Working in Partnership to Find the Right Placement
We work alongside professionals to deliver safe, well-matched placements through a clear and collaborative process.
Making Placement Decisions Simpler
We understand the challenges that social workers, placing authorities, and commissioning teams face when finding the right placement for a child or young person. Our aim is to make working with us as straightforward and transparent as possible.
Our Unique Offering
Nutrix Children’s Homes offers residential care for children and young people aged 6 to 18 with emotional, behavioural, and social needs. Our homes are deliberately small in scale, enabling consistent, relationship-led care that prioritises stability and long-term progress.
We accept both planned and emergency placements and work closely with local authorities throughout the placement process and beyond.
Our Referral Process
We have designed our referral process to be clear, structured, and efficient, without being unnecessarily bureaucratic. We understand that time matters, particularly in an emergency.
Step 1: Initial Assessment
When we receive a referral, we carefully review all available information about the young person against our internal criteria. We consider the young person’s individual needs alongside the existing dynamic within the home, to ensure that any placement will be beneficial for everyone involved.
Step 2: Initial Meeting
Where possible, we arrange an initial meeting between the young person, the home manager, and senior staff. This gives everyone the chance to begin building a relationship and provides us with a fuller picture of how the young person might settle within the home.
Step 3: Visit to the Home
The young person is invited to visit the home, meet the wider staff team, and spend time with the other young people already living there. This helps to familiarise them with the environment and makes the eventual transition feel less daunting.
Step 4: Final Matching Decision
Following the visit, we make a final assessment to determine whether the placement is the right fit. We will always be honest and clear in our decision, and we will never accept a placement unless we are confident, we can meet the young person’s needs safely and effectively.
Placement Planning
Once a placement is agreed, we work closely with the young person’s social worker and wider professional network to ensure that care planning is thorough, joined up, and responsive. We provide regular, detailed placement reports and are available to attend reviews, professionals’ meetings, and other key appointments.
We specialise in responding quickly when placements are urgently required. If you need to discuss an emergency placement, please contact us directly. We will respond promptly and give you a clear, honest picture of what we can offer.
